About the Journal
Journal on Math and Science Educational Technology is a double-masked, peer-reviewed, scientific, open-access journal. The journal is dedicated to publishing articles concerned with research, theory development, instructional methods, instructional strategies, instructional materials development, experiments, surveys, and teacher development in Mathematics and Science Education. EduResearch Mitra Inovasi publishes the journal in collaboration with Media Nusantara Citra University.
FOCUS AND SCOPE
The Journal of Math and Science Educational Technology focuses on publishing high-quality articles dedicated to all aspects of the latest outstanding research, theory development, instructional methods, instructional strategies, instructional materials development, experiments, surveys, and teacher development in Mathematics and science education.
The scope of this journal encompasses, but is not limited to:
- Methods of teaching: In ancient times, the learners were passive listeners, but now they actively participate with the teacher in the process of education. Therefore, the skills and proficiencies of different teaching methods need to be developed.
- Instructional Media Development: In the past, teaching relied heavily on verbal explanation and limited visual aids. However, modern education emphasizes the use of various instructional media—such as digital resources, multimedia presentations, interactive simulations, and learning platforms—to enhance understanding and engagement. Therefore, the ability to design, select, and effectively utilize diverse instructional media has become essential for supporting meaningful learning.
- Instructional Assessment Development: Traditionally, assessment was focused mainly on memorization and final examinations. Today, assessment serves not only to measure learning outcomes but also to guide, motivate, and improve the learning process itself. Thus, teachers need to develop skills in designing various types of assessments, including formative and summative assessments, using different tools and strategies to evaluate both cognitive and behavioral aspects of student learning.
- Problems & issues of education: This scope includes problems of teaching management of education, and suggestions and remedies for them.
- Educational technology: It is a very recent branch that has come under the scope of education. It makes education a technical and systematic subject by applying technology in the teaching-learning process.
Authors must ensure that only original articles and brief surveys are considered for publication in the Journal on Math and Science Educational Technology. For more detailed information, visit the author guidelines and policy of this journal.

PEER REVIEW PROCESS
Journal on Math and Science Educational Technology is a double-blind peer-reviewed Journal. This means that both the reviewer's and the author's identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. Submitted papers are evaluated by anonymous referees for contribution, originality, and relevance.
An editor first reviews all submitted manuscripts. The editor will evaluate whether the submission is suitable for the Journal of Math and Science Educational Technology's focus and scope, or if it has a major methodological flaw and a high similarity score, as determined by iThenticate. All the manuscripts must be free from content plagiarism.
Before submitting articles to reviewers, they are first checked for similarity/plagiarism using a tool by a member of the editorial team. The papers submitted to the Journal of Math and Science Educational Technology must have a similarity level of less than 20%. Reviewer selection is crucial to the publication process, and we base our choice on several factors, including expertise, reputation, specific recommendations, and our own prior experience with a reviewer's characteristics. We check with potential reviewers before sending them manuscripts for review. Reviewers reserve the right to reject the script if the script review doesn't match the fields/expertise. Reviewers should be aware that all correspondence in this journal contains confidential information, which should be treated as such.
The submitted manuscript will be reviewed by at least two (2) reviewers for checking contribution, originality, relevance, novelty, and presentation. The reviewer will comment and submit the scientific value. Reviewers' comments are then sent to the corresponding author for necessary actions and responses. The reviewer will improve the contents of the manuscript, and each reviewer is given two (2) weeks to conduct the review. If, within the specified time, the reviewer does not respond, the review process is replaced by another reviewer with the same qualifications.
Review Outcomes
Every submitted article is independently reviewed by at least two reviewers (Double-anonymized Peer-Review). After being reviewed, there will be four kinds of editor decisions based on the reviewers' recommendations:
- Reject - Rejected manuscripts will not be published, and authors will not have the opportunity to resubmit a revised version of the manuscript to the Journal of Math and Science Educational Technology.
- Resubmit for Review - The submission needs to be re-worked, but with significant changes, may be accepted. However, it will require a second round of review.
- Accept with Revisions - Manuscripts receiving an accept-pending-revisions decision will be published in the Journal of Math and Science Educational Technology under the condition that minor/major modifications are made. An editor will review revisions to ensure necessary updates are made before publication.
- Accept - Accepted manuscripts will be published in the current form with no further modifications required.
The suggested decision will be evaluated in an editorial board meeting. Afterward, the editor will send the final decision to the corresponding author.
The reviewers' and editor's suggestions will be conveyed to the author, who will then have an opportunity to revise the paper. A manuscript returned to an author for revision can be held for a maximum of three weeks.
Correspondence
All correspondence concerning manuscripts should be directed to the Editor of the Journal of Math and Science Educational Technology Open Journal System (OJS). The Editor will direct all correspondence to the lead author; the lead author is responsible for sharing communications with other authors.
After Accepted
The Editor of the Journal of Math and Science Educational Technology will edit the accepted paper.

The editors then make a decision based on the reviewers' advice, from among several possibilities: (1) Accept, with or without editorial revisions; (2) Invite the authors to revise their manuscript to address specific concerns before a final decision is reached; (3) Reject, but indicate to the authors that further work might justify a resubmission, and; (4) Reject outright, typically on grounds of specialist interest, lack of novelty, insufficient conceptual advance or major technical and/or interpretational problems.
