Focus & Scope
The Journal of Math and Science Educational Technology focuses on publishing high-quality articles dedicated to all aspects of the latest outstanding research, theory development, instructional methods, instructional strategies, instructional materials development, experiments, surveys, and teacher development in Mathematics and science education.
The scope of this journal encompasses, but is not limited to:
- Methods of teaching: In ancient times, the learners were passive listeners, but now they actively participate with the teacher in the process of education. Therefore, the skills and proficiencies of different teaching methods need to be developed.
- Instructional Media Development: In the past, teaching relied heavily on verbal explanation and limited visual aids. However, modern education emphasizes the use of various instructional media—such as digital resources, multimedia presentations, interactive simulations, and learning platforms—to enhance understanding and engagement. Therefore, the ability to design, select, and effectively utilize diverse instructional media has become essential for supporting meaningful learning.
- Instructional Assessment Development: Traditionally, assessment was focused mainly on memorization and final examinations. Today, assessment serves not only to measure learning outcomes but also to guide, motivate, and improve the learning process itself. Thus, teachers need to develop skills in designing various types of assessments, including formative and summative assessments, using different tools and strategies to evaluate both cognitive and behavioral aspects of student learning.
- Problems & issues of education: This scope includes problems of teaching management of education, and suggestions and remedies for them.
- Educational technology: It is a very recent branch that has come under the scope of education. It makes education a technical and systematic subject by applying technology in the teaching-learning process.
