As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • DOIs (Digital Object Identifiers) for the references must be provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  1. Journal on Math and Science Educational Technology is a double-masked, peer-reviewed, scientific, open-access journal. The journal is dedicated to publishing articles concerned with research, theory development, instructional methods, instructional strategies, instructional materials development, experiments, surveys, and teacher development in Mathematics Education. EduResearch Mitra Inovasi publishes the journal in collaboration with Media Nusantara Citra University.
  2. Authors are requested to prepare a manuscript in accordance with the Instructions for preparation of the manuscript and then to follow the Author Guidelines for submission. Before submitting your manuscript to the editorial team, please ensure that it is prepared according to the Journal's writing format and style, as outlined in the Math and Science Educational Technology Journal (please download the template for initial manuscript submission).
  3. The paper submission and reviewing procedures in the Journal on Math and Science Educational Technology will be processed with the web-based system via the Open Journal System (OJS) by Public Knowledge Project (PKP). We strongly prefer to receive manuscripts via our online submission system. By using our OJS system, authors can upload manuscript files (text, figures, and supplementary information) directly to our office and check the status of their reviews during the review process.
  4. Please register as an author, and then you should log in to submit your papers. Please don't forget to select 'author' when you register. The most important thing in this stage is that all of the authors must have an ORCID ID. If you haven't yet, please create your ORCID ID at https://orcid.org/. Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.
  5. Journal on Math and Science Educational Technology is a double-blind peer-reviewed Journal. This means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. To facilitate this, authors must ensure that their manuscripts are prepared in a manner that does not reveal clues to their identity. Citations that may reveal the authors’ identities (e.g., “in an extension of our previous work [citation of work with authors’ names]”) should be masked (e.g., [“Authors, 2011”]). The authors’ names, positions or titles, places of employment, and mailing addresses should appear on one cover Title Page only, not in an author footnote. Other subsequent pages should include only the manuscript title in the header.
  6. Submitted papers are evaluated by anonymous referees for contribution, originality, and relevance. Reviewer selection is critical to the publication process, and we base our choice on several factors, including expertise, reputation, specific recommendations, and our own previous experience with a reviewer's characteristics. We check with potential reviewers before sending them manuscripts to review. Reviewers reserve the right to reject the script if the script review does not align with the specified fields/expertise. Reviewers should be aware that all correspondence in this journal contains confidential information, which should be treated as such. We typically require one month to notify you of the results. The peer review process is estimated to be time-consuming, up to two months.
  7. Journal on Math and Science Educational Technology publication ethics and publication malpractice statement mainly refers to the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The present statement is committed to upholding publication ethics and ensuring the quality of articles intended for publication in the Journal on Math and Science Educational Technology. Conformance to standards of ethical behavior is therefore expected of all parties involved: authors, editors, reviewers, and publishers. Suggested information for COPE: (1) Guidelines for the Board of Directors of Learned Society Journals; (2) Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing; (3) Code of Conduct of Journal Publisher. Detailed information about COPE, please visit http://publicationethics.org/
  8. The author is not allowed to withdraw submitted manuscripts because the withdrawal is a waste of valuable resources that editors and referees spent a great deal of time processing the submitted manuscript, money, and work invested by the publisher. If the author still requests the withdrawal of their manuscript while it is still in the peer-review process, the author will be penalized for paying Rp. 500.000 per manuscript, as a withdrawal penalty to the publisher. However, it is unethical to withdraw a submitted manuscript from one journal if accepted by another journal. If the manuscript is withdrawn after it has been accepted for publication, the author will be required to pay Rp. 1.000.000 per manuscript. Withdrawal of the manuscript is only allowed after the withdrawal penalty has been fully paid to the Publisher.
  9. If the author doesn't agree to pay the penalty, the author and his/her affiliation will be blocked from publication in this journal. Even their previously published articles will be removed from our online system.
  10. Authors should carefully prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the following instructions: (1) All manuscripts should be prepared according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association 6th ed. (American Psychological Association [APA], 2010); (2) Manuscripts should be as concise as possible, yet sufficiently detailed to permit adequate communication and critical review; (3) Consult the APA Publication Manual for specific guidelines regarding the format of the manuscript, abstract, citations and references, tables and figures, and other matters of editorial style, and; (4) Tables and figures should be used only when essential.
